Get ready for another round of personal stories told live! Each show has a theme that storytellers explore and interpret through their own unique stories. Our tellers are selected to reflect diverse voices from various backgrounds.

All tellers have 7min to tell their stories. Don’t miss out on this one of a kind event described as a cross between documentary and theater, creating an intimate and often enlightening experience for the audience and tellers.

This special [fjúžn] edition of Bratislava True Stories tackles the theme of “values” and is created especially for Festival [fjúžn] 2020 organized by the Milan Šimečka Foundation. The storytelling night is produced by the nonprofit club Story Nights and is held in English.

About the theme:
What does the word value mean to you? Can you define it in your own words? What are the thoughts and images that come to your mind? Everyone’s values are different and they reflect what is important to us in life. Values define our culture, beliefs and who we are as a person. In line with the theme, we want to showcase life stories from ordinary people that are diverse, unusual, daring, and unknown.

FAQs:
Q: What type of stories can I tell/ hear?
A: We want people to share true stories about their lives – and every event has a different theme but the most important thing is it must be a first-person true story. This is NOT an event for debates, political speeches, philosophical musings and religious sermons. We also do not tolerate offensive, hateful and objectifying talks.

Q: I have a really good story to share which is relevant to this theme.
A: Great! Please send it to hon@isac-eu.org with a short description of your story. If there’s enough time, we’ll give you 7min to tell your story.

Q: Are the stories in English?
A: Yes!

Q: Can I come and just listen to others’ stories?
A: Yes, definitely!
