Improv theater classes for future stars!!
Your child will learn the basics of improvisational theater through a series of fun, interactive, imaginative, and engaging 60-min classes. They will learn the improv essentials such as cooperation, listening, agreement (yes, and…), characters, environments, miming, voice, use of the body, and spontaneity.
No previous experience is required.
Please register in advance before coming to class. We want to keep you informed in case of any last-minute changes.
What is improv?
Improv is a form of live theater in which the plot, characters, and dialogue of a scene or story are created spontaneously in front of the audience. Improv actors prepare for an improv performance by polishing these skills, the same skills that are vital for everybody to succeed in school, work, and life:
- Problem solving
- Active listening
- Acceptance and agreement
- Voice and pronunciation
- Interpersonal communication
- Being present/ focus
About the trainer
Hon Chong is a multifaceted artist with skills spanning improvisation, acting, directing, and storytelling. Over the past 15 years, he has built an international portfolio, working in North America, Europe, and Asia.
In Slovakia, Hon has played a pivotal role in establishing the International Society for Arts and Culture, o.z. (ISAC), a grassroots non-profit organization based in Bratislava. He also spearheaded the creation of Funnylicious Improv Theater, a multicultural theatre renowned for its captivating and engaging performances.
As the artistic director and a cast member at Funnylicious, Hon has gained recognition for delivering shows that celebrate diversity.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Hon has developed comprehensive curricula and conducted enriching improv workshops for various organizations, nonprofits, and schools across Europe and Asia.
